The circle round, with green tree lined,
We walked and laughed about these days.
The round face smiled down and signed.
“It’s time to part,” he lovingly says.

Two hands upon Time’s face do stray,
Nearer, farther, they run apart,
Yet truly never too far away.
For joined at the foot are they.

I looked up and see Time’s smiling face
And watch those hands come closer tight.
I look down to see your smiling face,
And hope soon those hands will reach midnight.
